February Half Term Fun

In need of ideas of what to do this February Half Term? Here are a few events taking place in the Chichester District. 

You can also get engaged with this year's South Downs National Park Dark Skies Festival, which is taking place between the 7th-23rd of February. Get involved in activities such as walking or cycling, attend a stargazing party or go along to one of the daytime events to celebrate the wonderful night skies of our national parks.

Treasured Objects activities at Weald & Downland Living Museum

Five days of creative family activities, such as: Making a simple picture frame, button art, face painting and trails around the museum to find treasured objects.

Cost: Regular museum prices applied; some activities ask for a donation.

Goodwood’s Junior Golf Camps

Space Explorers at The Novium Museum

Do you want to learn more about life onboard the International Space Station? The Novium Museum is running this event in conjunction with the South Downs National Park’s Dark Skies Festival. The session includes interactive demonstrations, dressing up and object handling to provide a fun, hands-on experience of children. Suitable for ages 5-11.

Cost: Free, but booking is recommended

Splash about at Arundel Wetland Centre

If you are looking for the perfect rainy-day activity, or just wish to release your inner child, Arundel WWT’s South Eat Puddle Jumping championship is perfect for you. With fun for all the family, challenge each other to see who can make the biggest splash.

Live Like a Roman at Fishbourne Roman Palace

Find out what it was like to live like a Roman, with fun hands-on activities including, dressing up, weaving and pottery making.

Explore the Stars at South Downs Planetarium

The Planetarium provides a guided tour of the stars during the frosty winter nights as well as a closer look at our planetary neighbours.

Not suitable for children under 6 years old.

Go back in time at Butser Ancient Farm 

Although it is a little further afield, Butser Ancient Farm provides lots of family fun this half term, with a range of different demonstrations and activities to take part in each day. Enjoy the themed trail, exploring the ancient buildings and finish off the day sat around a roaring fire with a cup of tea or hot chocolate to warm yourselves up.
