Our ties with the Goodwood Estate go back to the beginning. Goodwood's late Duke - the 10th Duke of Richmond - was headvily involved in tourism, he was a very important benefactor and supporter of tourism in and around Chichester. In 1963 he founded Chichester Visitor Group, a forerunner of Visit Chichester. From 2004 until 2012 the Duke of Richmond was President of Visit Chichester and adopted a very significant founding role in the inauguration and early development of the Destination Management Organisation, as we are today.
The 10th Duke of Richmond's son is the founder of the Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival Meeting - two of the biggest events to take place in our District.
