West Dean College of Arts and Conservation has an international profile for conservation and arts education. In addition to being a unique place to study, it offers visitors near and far the opportunity to connect with a rich heritage of arts, craft and creative possibility.

Our annual events programme ranges from concerts, literary talks, arts festivals, ‘meet the artist’ talks and garden workshops.

With the South Downs as the picturesque backdrop, events are held throughout the year in the historic West Dean House (home to the College), and the stunning West Dean Gardens.

Be inspired by the diverse collective of creatives discussing their passion for art, and immerse yourself in the eclectic music recitals, concerts and Salon Imaginaire’s – offering a window of insight into varied and alternative music genres.

We believe in nurturing the future of music, traditional crafts and fine arts, and as such, we encourage visitors to roll up their sleeves and try their hand at something new. Our events programme includes workshops, tutorials, and creative activities.

Seasonal events include Halloween, Christmas and Easter activities.

Events are added throughout the year – keep up to date on our events page here.
