Where to begin? It's not often you find so much to pack into a visit. Let’s start with the city’s Cathedral which is over 900 years old. Norman architecture vies with a modern art collection. Nearby explore the new "Novium" museum built on the site of a former Roman Bath House. The city has an almost complete wall with a circular signposted walk. Visit the planets and stars at South Downs Planetarium one of the largest in the UK.

The city's Pallant House Gallery houses a Gulbenkian prize winner and 20th century British art. The evidence of our Roman past is brought to life at Fishbourne Roman Palace, whilst nearby Bignor is home to a Roman Villa. Both display preserved mosaics and fascinating artefacts from the time of the Roman occupation. To the east you'll find Tangmere Military Aviation Museum with aircraft and memorabilia dating back to the Battle of Britain.

Over 500 years of previous authentic buildings from the south of England are set out in village style at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. Visitors young and old delight in two National Trust properties at Petworth and Uppark. Goodwood House is the centre of a modern Estate that operates the world renowned Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival. The Estate, in addition to the house, comprises a famous race course, a modern hotel, a motor circuit and a farm shop. Stroll around West Dean Gardens or take a trip on Chichester Harbour onboard the solar-powered boat 'Solar Heritage'.
