Honeysuckle Lodge is situated on a working farm, with a network of public footpaths from the front door, and within easy walking distance of the new Medmerry RSPB Nature Reserve. Forming part of a paved courtyard area, and affording ample parking space, the cottage was originally old dairy buildings, converted in the 1960’s to residential accommodation. Full central heating makes this detached cottage very comfortable for year-round use. It has recently been refurbished as a holiday let, for up to four people. The owner’s period country farmhouse, making up the south side of the courtyard, is adjacent to the cottage. The paved patio area to the front of the cottage, with table and chairs, is the perfect spot to appreciate local wildlife and open fields at any time of day. Modern farm buildings lie to the north.
The cottage is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists. The large entrance hallway, with utility room off, easily accommodates bikes and boards as well as coats and boots.
The comfortable lounge with two and three-seater sofas, has a dining area looking onto uninterrupted rural views. There is a Freeview TV with DVD player, WiFi router and I-pod dock. The feature fireplace is decorative but not in use.
The fully equipped kitchen, with far-reaching views, has a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, and integrated dishwasher.
The Master bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, looks onto the courtyard. The second bedroom looks onto the open fields. Both have ample wardrobe space, wall-mounted TVs and zip-link king (converting to twin) beds, allowing for flexible accommodation. A separate shower room makes the cottage ideal for couples sharing or families.
Honeysuckle Lodge sits in the middle of Ham Farm, close to Medmerry and Pagham Harbour RSPB reserves, on the southern edge of the Manhood peninsula. The cottage is within a few miles of East Head, and the beaches and village shops of East and West Wittering. Birdham Pool, Dell Quay and Chichester Marina give access for keen sailors to Chichester Harbour and the Solent. Fishbourne and the historic city of Chichester lie to the north.
