Bramley Cottage is a traditional style 3 bedroom house with red clay tiles and Sussex flint boundary walls surrounded by well established mature garden. The cottage is located in Singleton, a quiet village at the heart of the South Downs National Park close to Goodwood and Chichester. It lies within the Village Conservation Area and a chalk stream (the River Lavant) runs along one boundary.
This comfortable and spacious cottage provides everything you need for a relaxing holiday, and the opportunity to enjoy one of the most attractive gardens in the village.
The recently refurbished accommodation comprises a main bedroom with a king size bed, which has an en suite and a day bed and can be used as a family room. There are two additional double bedrooms both with built in wardrobes. There is a new family bathroom upstairs and a new shower room downstairs. A large living room has windows on three sides with view of the gardens and surrounding hills. Patio doors open on to a shaded seating area.
The new kitchen has been completely refitted and opens onto a separate dining area. There is a small conservatory accessed via a door from the dining room, with a suite of rattan furniture and garden chairs/cushions for use on the adjacent and rear patios. The second patio at the rear of the garden provides the opportunity to sit in the sun most of the day.
The cottage is well equipped for 5 or 6 adults and families with children. There is ample parking and a utility room provides additional space which can be used for anything that is wet or dirty: Walking boots and outdoor clothes, pets and cycles overnight. There is a washing machine and drier.
Local pubs and tea rooms in 'the valley' villages of East Dean, Charlton, Singleton and West Dean serve excellent food, all within two miles, and you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out in near by towns.
There is a local shop within one mile at West Dean and a range of supermarkets at Chichester and Midhurst, both within six miles.
Bramley Cottage provides the ideal base to visit events at Goodwood only one mile away, and is a short walk from the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum and West Dean Gardens. It is located only 6 miles from Chichester, and is well situated for exploring the Sussex coast and South Downs National Park.
This is a popular area for walkers and cyclists. There is a network of local footpaths and the South Downs Way is only a 3 mile walk through Singleton Forest. There are opportunities for cyclists within the surrounding hills and routes to the north or for more leisurely trips via the Centurion Way, a cycle way and footpath from West Dean to Chichester with direct access to the less challenging coastal plain.
